There is one small piece of the song that seemed like it went unsaid. The pictures showed what we all know, the purrs and whispers as the song faded contained a distant sound that we all knew. Faintly in the distance on the wind I heard... "Norman".... 😺

Santa Rosa / Healdsburg is the gateway to our absolute favorite wine region in California - Dry Creek Valley. There are amazing wineries in that area.

Very nice review. I agree that Smokeye Hill might not be on par with other high end bourbons, but it did beat out George T. Stagg in a blind tasting during the 2024 ASCOT Awards. I really like it as it has such a concentration of flavors that one could spend quite a bit of time enjoying it. While in Santa Rose, did you stop by the Luther Burbank Home and Garden? He developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants over his 55-year career, one being the Shasta Daisy. Cheers!

I used to live in Santa Rosa only a few blocks from Bottle Barn. Hope you visited Russian River Brewing while there. Pliny the Elder is a fantastic DIPA. Also or course, Redwood Empire is close in Graton.

I’m liking the 93 proof, but passed on the 131. Those high proofers are just loo much for me. Wish it came at 100-108.

Interesting Starward collaboration. I have their Nova, which is wine finished. I’ve seen a couple of videos praising the Smokeye Hill. At 131, I might have to go to an ice sphere.

Love flavor and high proof, so this will need to be added to the list. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
